The good news is that pairing your AirPods to a Windows machine is a straightforward process. While it might not be as instant as with Apple devices, you can get connected in just a few simple steps and enjoy your favorite wireless earbuds with your PC.
Getting Your AirPods Ready to Pair
Before you start clicking around on your laptop, you need to tell your AirPods you want to connect. Place both AirPods in their charging case and open the lid. Now, locate the small button on the back of the case. Press and hold this button until the status light on the front starts flashing white. This means your AirPods are now in pairing mode and are discoverable by your computer.
Connecting Through Your Windows Settings
On your Windows laptop, click on the Start menu and go to Settings, then select Devices (or Bluetooth & other devices in newer versions of Windows). Make sure Bluetooth is turned on. Troubleshooting a Stubborn Connection
If your AirPods don’t show up, don’t worry. First, ensure they are still in pairing mode with the light flashing white. If they’ve timed out, just hold the button on the case again. It can also help to turn your laptop’s Bluetooth off and then on again to refresh the search. If you’ve paired them before and are having issues, try removing your AirPods from the list of saved Bluetooth devices on your laptop and then go through the pairing process from the beginning.
