Managing a Chromebook often involves handling different user accounts, and sometimes, you need to remove the administrative account. The Simple Way to Remove a Managed Admin Account

To do this, open your Settings, go to Advanced and then Reset settings. Click Reset and then Powerwash. After the device restarts, it will be like new, and you can set it up with a new primary account, which will become the admin by default.

For a personal Chromebook that isn’t managed by an organization, you can change the owner without a full reset. First, you need to add a new user account. Sign out of the current admin account, then sign in with a different Google Account on the login screen. Once that new account is fully set up, you can sign out again.

Find the new account you just added and click the vertical three-dot menu next to it. Select Remove this user. This effectively transfers ownership, and the next account you add will be the new device owner.
